Hi
I was trying out a high rated optimizer called advanced system optimizer..I really didn't like it so i uninstalled it...now when I boot up I get message invalid BOOT.INI file booting from C: \windows\....system restore does zilch now..Goes through process in a few seconds then on desktop get failure to restore......I can restore my last created restore point from safe mode which i created after this problem so it doesn't help any

since this is a used computer i got a year ago with no windows disk...should i just leave well enough alone or is there a solution..?.Could use any advice
thanks all..i moved the boot.ini.backup to the C: drive and renamed to just boot.ini and it booted normally but on second restart same error message and the file had disappeared off the C:Drive

All boot.ini files are not the same, it all depends on your setup, So there is no way we can do what you ask of us.

problem was easy after i figured it out and got some additional info..i just pasted a boot.ini example from the net into notepad but afeter a re boot the boot.ini would disappear..had to uninstall ask toolbar..now everything works fine including my crashing incredimail and system restore
