Boot-Up Freeze After Windows XP Install Failure

I tried to install Windows XP on a 15GB partition on my 200GB Maxtor hard drive. The installation failed and now when I have the Maxtor drive plugged in the Primary Master or Slave, my computer will not start up. When it's plugged into the Master, it will freeze after saying "Ultra DMA Mode 5 S.M.A.R.T. Capable and Status OK." When it's plugged into the Slave, it beeps constantly. I don't know what the problem is, so if I could get advice, that would be great.

Thanks!

I think it's because it's trying to boot from the drive, as in the MBR is on the drive but windows isn't.

Maybe you could put it an external enclosure, connect it to another computer and a full format on the drive, should solve any problems.

That worked perfectly, man! Thanks a lot! Now comes the insanely annoying task of redownloading and reinstalling all my programs and documents! :P:D Is there any way I could thumbs up you or something for your time? :)
