Boot Up Problems Help!!!

ok .. playing a game, the game froze ...so a restarted the computer, now the computer gets to the XP sign with the bar loading then restarts over and over again .. ANY IDEAS?

Hi,

When a computer freezes and you end up turning it off, sometimes it can corrupt the setting of your BIOS setup menu. Therefore, the first thing you might try is to clear your CMOS.

Post back with questions or concerns.

if this doesnt help then i may suggest the following

insert the windows xp cd rom,

when given the option repair it not install,

when given the choice obviousy select the os with the prob

if you dont have a admin pass just press enter,

and then when you come up with a flashy line type fixboot and then chkdsk

Tumbleweed36 - Um...no...

Christian seems to have a good idea. Usally the recovery deal on the XP disk works.

Can you get to safe mode? You could always try the System Restore option and just reset your machine to a few days back. But I'd use the recovery option first. That usally works the best.

I have had this problem. It turned out to be my hard drive, it caused a system file(s) to go corrupt. Try running a system restore and or a disk check.

yea, well i just typed help when i got to the black screen help thingy and typed watever said fix or chk, works never the less

Have a look at the boot file aswell see if anything there is wrong,

You could always try the System Restore
changing subject and you can pm the answer but
