Does anyone know when I boot up I get bars across the bottom of the screen that changes to solid then after a long period goes to my desktop in windows XP?

When I start the computer I get a black screen with white bars across the bottom then it starts changing to solid little by little.

Sounds like you are describing the normal boot up display while windows loads. Can you clarify what your problem is, or what is concerning you?

I have had XP for years, my system went down I used my recovery discs to get it to come back up and this started, I never saw this before it takes a very long time to boot up usually it takes about a minute to boot up, when those bars come up it takes about 5 minutes.

what kind of bars veritcal or horizontal, color or black and white, thin or thick?? can u take a pic with a camera and post it?

he said there white bars on the bottom of the screen that eventually turn solid.

Is this before you see the windows loading screen?

Yes, this is before I get anything, Are there different types of XP Home? I never saw this with my original XP Home. I loaded another XP Home and this started.

thats probably something with your motherboard.. how it boots up and loads and what not.. there isn't any problems? just that it annoys u? or does it not load up or anything?

i have a syntax mb.. it loads that way too.. here is an example..

screen is totally black...
then on the bottom..

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][] . . .. . . . . then eventually it turns solid white all the way across the screen right?

if ur windows loads and works.. its nothing to worry about..
