Boot XP from CF MicroDrive

I'm trying to boot Windows XP from a Seagate 4 MB CF form factor microdrive.

My motherboard is an Ampro ReadyBoard 800.

I can install XP to the drive but it won't boot. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Kind of hard to fit it on a 4MB drive, maybe a 4GB drive Hehe, anyway, any errors? More info would really help. But this shouldn't be too hard, considering CF drives can run as standard IDE drives on regular computer with the correct addaptors... Probably just something minor.

D'Oh!! Yep. It's a 4GB drive.

The only error I get is as follows.

Disk I/O error
Replace the disk, and then press any key

The BIOS (supposedly) allows me to boot from HDD/CF but to date, I haven't have any luck whatsoever.

The first thing that comes to mind is either a disk problem(bad sectors and what not), or a bios misconfiguration. I've never really worked with CF cards had harddrives, but I assume they're just like any other IDE drive and configure automatically?

It's not a disk problem. I can see it when I boot to the normal IDE HD and it looks good. I'm guessing it's something to do with this being a removable disk rather than fixed.
