Bootable ghost dvd

I have put ghost.exe on a bootable dvd to save the HD image on dvd's.
2 questions:

1- While using ghost, I can't select my dvd drive ; I don't see it. What do I have to add to the bootable dvd? (I suppose it's something to add into autoexec.bat or config.sys).

2- I was also wondering if I would be able to save the image on the dvd, since I only have one cd/dvd drive (laptop) ; What would happen if the computer need to run ghost.exe while burning the image on the dvd? Do you think ghost.exe is completely loaded into the RAM?

1. Depending on what DOS you're running, you may or may not need drivers. However...

2. I don't think Ghost is capable of burning images to a disk. I'm pretty sure you have to select a hard drive. It should be able to copy the data to an external hard drive assuming the laptop's fairly new.

Yes it can save on a disk. I do it since many years with desktop computers with a bootable 3.5 floppy disk.

I just want to so the same with a bootable cd because my laptop doesn't have floppy disk...
