ive made a bootable windows xp sp3 disk by slipstreaming the SP on windows xp but when i try it out it boots up and when it goes thru the setups ie the blue screen it suddenly stops asking for a windows xp disk?

Service Pack 3 could be the problem, not the method used to slipstream the disk. My Sony Vaio failed to boot after installing SP3...

yeah i know nlite is perfectly legal i use it myself

you did integrate SP2 first right?

Sp3 does not include Sp1.

So if you have an original (not one with sp2 built in) xp disk, you must integrate SP2 first, then SP3, or else you get BSODs

You know I have heard that to. But I have a old XP pro CD that I got at a meeting before XP was even released, no SP at all. I Slipstreamed SP3 on it and it installs just fine. Kinda odd, it might just happen with old non SP CDs that were issued with OEM computes/dell/hp and so on. Dont really know. But I have done it with non SP cds and it worked just fine.

i got it working just restarted it again and that sorted the problem, but now i get, you know when it says press any key to boot from cd, then it says setup is inspecting your system config after that my monitor goes blank doesnt show anything and i cant continue???
