Booting DVD Image

About a month ago I started a thread about cloning/ imaging a hard drive. The answers were quite helpful and informative. However, there was a crucial question that I did not ask, and, hours spent searching, cannot find the answer to this question. I am about to burn an image of my hard drive to a DVD using Arconis True Image. The OS is Windows XP Home Edition. My question is, when I input the Imaged DVD into my drive, and start the computer, will the bios "boot from CD" (DVD), thus allowing the DVD to be copied to the new hard drive?

Unless acronis has changed you need to make an acronis recover cd. You boot to this cd to start the recovery process. Open acronis and you should find the option to create it.

Alrighty, I do see what you stated in Acronis. So, after reading the whole section of Acronis "Getting Started and Help Guide", I theoretically should be able to just click: disk and partition back up-check box "make this media bootable"-then proceed to burn the non-back up partition of my hard drive (that includes Windows OS, and all other current files on HDD), to multiple DVD+R's. Then, should this hard drive malfunction, I will be able to replace the hard drive, and copy these multiple DVD's to the new hard drive. If I'm understanding this process correctly.

That would be correct. The instructions are pretty straightforward. i haven't used acronis in a few years. I'm running Raid 0 and I know I should, just haven't set it up yet.
