Booting From Win98 2E CD

Gang, can I reformat, repartition (one big one) and install the OS simply by booting to the CD? In other words can I do it all without the boot floppy? I know I'd have to set the boot priority in the bios to CD. I've heard somewhere that 98 2E can be loaded similar to XP, but havn't found any specifics. Thanks all.

If you have a burner you can make a bootable cd, add format and fdisk to boot file then add your 98 to it! Done that many times with 98,98se and Me

There bootable but do not have format or fdisk!

Yes, they do.

The win98 SE CD creates a RAM Disk as A, which has all the files that are needed, including FDISK, and FORMAT. Otherwise, you can find them in the TOOLS directory. Sometimes in the Windows SETUP directory.

Catch.
