Hi guys I just formatted my hard drive and reinstalled my XP home ed but now every time i start the PC it tries to boot from disk, so i have to either put my XP disk in or go to the boot menu and select the appropriate hard drive, I am not very computer savy but can follow instructions. How do i make my PC boot from hard drive by itself Thanks guys any help would be great

Refer to the user manual for the system or board if a custom build for the bios setup. There one section is called "boot" or "boot order" for setting the first, second, third boot device.

One way to force boot from the hard drive is to set hard drive as the first and simply disable the rest. For any need to reinstall Windows for some reason since you have the boot device menu option at post you can simply leave the boot order alone and choose the optical drive from the menu to boot from the install disk. Saves time and repeat trips into the bios! :D

You need to go into the bios when it is booting,

then you go into the boot setup and select the hard drive as the primary boot device.
