Booting issues with Windows 7 Home Premium

Hi,
I've installed Windows 7 on this desktop. The board has no name on it, but I've managed to find out that it is an IntelR model AWRDACPI, probably quite old.
The problem I'm having is not serious, it only requires occasionally rebooting until 'it' decides to load Windows. It often boots normally but will occasionally come up with the 'boot normally or repair' options window. Choosing the boot normally option usually does the trick. (I stopped choosing the repair option, which usually fixes it, but only temporarily, and takes a long time.) If the boot normally option doesn't work it may go to this the blue screen (I can give you the exact error). Then I am forced to reboot. Rebooting will again go to the 'boot normally or repair' options. Then choosing the boot normally option will usually boot into Windows, after which I am told that Windows is recovering from a forced shutdown (or something to that effect), followed by this information window ..........

Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3

I can live with this but ......
As always, any help is appreciated.

lets see what is going on shall we?

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

So its the same error on all the bluescreens which is good.

Navigate to this file and then copy and paste to desktop. Then you can zip it up and attach it to your next reply. I'll then debug it to see if it gives any indication of whats going on.

C:\Windows\Minidump\121621-37562-01.dmp

Any new software or hardware installed that may be causing this issue?

Hi John,
Here is it is ...... thanks.
P.S. There are two others of these *.dmp files, one from yesterday, and one from the day before, all the same size 268kb.
Oops. I forgot to answer your question. I'm not sure what's new on this machine. I bought it second hand. It came with an ATI graphics card (not native to it), and the wireless PC adapter (which I've removed). I also added a faster cpu (300 vs 267) and some memory, along with a multi port usb pci card, and a Veho usb adapter so that I can use Readyboost with a 4gig SD card. Oh and I installed the card ready from the machine I stripped, but removed it since it kind of finicky.
I think that's it.

Simple enough. So you have an issue with the winlogon process. This is usually caused by missing or corrupted system files, including drivers. You can try running the system file checker utility to check for missing or corrupted files. As far as hardware or driver issues, I would remove any accessories not required to boot and check status that way. It could be the usb pci adapter or the veho usb adapter.

Hi,
"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
So, on to removal of all non essential devices.

Hi John,
Well, I removed everything that I could remove (including the USB card), and it boots normally. Now, I have stopped plugging so many things into it (mostly devices that I was charging via the USB ports) and it works fine.
Thanks again for you help.

You are probably overtasking your system if you are charging a lot of devices especially if you have an low end psu.
