booting up?

do you guys know of any ways i can make my boot up speed faster. That is about the only complaint i have with my acer laptop. If you need to know the specs let me know.
 
The specs and model wouldn't hurt. I have an acer so I can try to help. Fist if you can, disable their "Empowering Technology" if you have it.
 
i have an acer aspire 3000. 40gb HD 256Ram(upgrading soon) AMD sepron processor. how do i disable empowering technology?
 
start
run
type in msconfig
startup tab
find the empowering technology
uncheck the box
restart and it SHOULDN'T open

other than that, just try to disable other things in msconfig that you don't always need (like aim, msn, ICQ ect...)

Could also use autoruns and get rid of useless programs at startup.
