I have windows 7 running on my computer . its a Pentium 4 DT. I decided to install Linux mint 8 on the computer as well. the installation went through beautifully. Although i am not happy with the fact that Grub Runs before the windows loader ( Hate that green glow). I was wondering if there is any way i can set it up in such a way that, when i switch on the computer, It loads up the windows loader with the option of Win 7 and Linux. and once i hit Linux, it loads up the linux boot loader. Would really appreciate if someone could help me with this:)

You can only have one boot loader, because it resides in the boot sector of the HD. GRUB is far superior and more widely supported than whatever that app used to load Windows 7. BCD.exe or whatever it is called. If you really wanted to modify your GRUB menu you could probably do so to make it look more "pretty" and I am sure google searching would point you to an article to do so.

There is a single master boot record. There are multiple partition boot records - one per primary partition. That is how grub starts Windows - it hands over the boot process to Windows' own boot record.

You can also have a boot record in a file. That is how you start win9x from 2k/xp and later.

Have you checked grub4dos?
