Hey guys I'm new here. I have a question to start with. Today my computer "broke down". At first it just seemed to lose video output, and since I have the ATI HD 4870 I thought that the GPU simply went bad based on it's poor heat control (or lack of). However... the computer does not seem to boot up right. The USB devices do not seem to receive power since my keyboard never lights up when it used to but the internal fans ( including the one on the GPU ) work fine. Also, my HDD light never flashes even after waiting around several minutes. It is custom build computer and I can't remember if the light ever functioned though. The fan on the GPU card randomly sped up and slowed down when the screen first went blank earlier this morning. I haven't paid attention too it in the last few hours so I don't know for sure. Also, the first time the computer began to have this issue white horizontal lines when across the screen, this was what let me believe that it was a GPU only problem. However, the lack of lights and power to my USB devices now make me feel as though its more of a PSU or motherboard issue.
