I just bought a Dell X300 laptop off Ebay and it came without a OS, so am trying to install XP or anything on it, but cannot get past the Safeboot security. It needs a Username and Password, of which I have no idea. The person I pought it from indicated it was from a company that they had bought the older models out to sell. I wonder if anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of this security system, so I can install my own OS? One local computer store said it would be necessary to remove the hard drive, but he didn't say why or what after that. Thanks
