Bottleneck GPU?

Ok, well I tried that and it did make a difference. It doesn't glitch up nearly as much, so it's pretty smooth (running 1024X768 medium with 8x aa). Do you have texture draw distance problems? I mean, some times rocks and plants don't show up until I'm pretty close to them. The others that are there don't look very good until I get fairly close. I'll be driving in Crysis and think I'm going one way, but a rock will pop up in that path all of the sudden.

Instinct5 says that he runs it all very high....... He has a 5200+. Would I run better with around that speed processor? Thanks.

I don't get that problem but you did say you were running the demo didn't you? Perhaps it was a bug in the demo?

That did cross my mind. It could be just a bug.

Just out of curiosity-

Doesn't the temperature of the card usually indicate how hard it's working? When I play Hitman Blood Money, it gets up to 67-68c fast, but on Crysis it will stay a lot cooler, but eventually get up to 69c or maybe 70c after playing for a while. I figured that Hitman would be fairly easy to play, compared to Crysis (Hitman is on full everything), if temperatures have to do with anything. Thanks for your help, everyone. I can't figure it out!

to be honest, i rahter think your problem is the motherboard rather than the CPU.

it only has a Nforce 410 chipset. I recon thats nowhere near enough to get the data fast enough to the grafic's card, ram and CPU, if you get my point.

Really? It could be the board? That's another thing that crossed my mind *hits head on desk*. If I had a better chipset, I might notice a difference, rather than replacing the cpu right off the bat? Do you have any recommendations on a motherboard/chipset? Thanks for you help.

I recon you will notice quite a difference there. (I had a nforce 4 series motherboard.. well, when I had my 3000+ venice, that was with using a geforce 6800GT, so I think you can immagine the capabillities of the chipset then :o (ofc, this one could be slightly faster.. but the name "nForce 410" doesnt predict much of an improvement over the "nForce 4 SLI" chipset I had :) )

then again, I'm not realy into the nvidia chipsets lately, so i don't know exacly what the performance of those is exacly. would be nice if someone could confirm my suspicion?

Something I didn't mention-

My motherboard has a x16 slot, but it only runs it in x8 mode. Could that make a difference on a single 8800GT?

It's also 1.1 or something, not 2.0, but I've heard that it won't make a difference in a single card setup. Thanks!

Edit: Thank you everyone for your help. I have a few motherboard questions about my motherboard, so I think I should be asking there. Thanks again!
