I just bought a new desktop.. I want you guys and girls to judge the deal.

used
- AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+ (dual core)
- 320gb HDD
- 1gig ram PC2-5300 DDR2
- DVD RW
- radeon X1250 integrant
- pci-express slot
- vista premium
- restore partition
- in original box

grand total 321.00 usd

note:
some of you may have convinced me that it might not be a good deal due to future additional upgrades cost.. but vote the poll just purely for the price for the computer spec list above anyway.

You're going to need way more than taht 1GB of ram for vista. My little sister had a smiliar setup with 1GB and it took like literally 5 minutes for vista to start. Upgrade to atleast 1.5gb or 2gb.

aww.... guess ill buy additional ram later on then. btw I have an extra x700 pro pci express laying around... ill use that temperary then buy 9600GT! yehah baby!!! 9600GT!!! cant wait!

There is almost no doubt that you will need a new PSU if you want to upgrade ur GPU, unfortunatly that would sort of nullify the "deal" u had.

Wish there was "Not that bad". For $250 including shipping I made this build I'm on right now:

Celeron Conroe 420 @ 2.13GHz
Foxconn LGA775 motherboard (supports Quads too!)
2GB DDR2-667 CL5 Corsair ValueSelect
DVD Burner PATA
X1550 128MB (512MB HyperMemory)
80GB PATA HDD
Floppy Drive 1.44MB 3.5"
250W PSU

Works fine! Can play BF2 on medium settings, BF2142 at medium settings, ect! Love it! Zooming fast.

nullify the deal i had if i gonna get a graphic card and a new psu....hmmm yeah u probly right.

320.00 + graphic card 150.00 + new psu 50.00 = 520.00

so it will be 520.00 usd for a new graphic card and psu....

but anyway i probly get the new graphic card and psu within a month or so.

$200... you could get a GTS G92 for $215

Now... the RAM and CPU will bottleneck that...

looks wonderful for the price, but ok now your going to need an amd 6400+ oced to 4.5ghz, about 8 gigs of ddr3, 4 raptors in raid 0, 4 way sli involving the 9800 x2's, and a 1200watt psu (sarcastic)

you really think the X2 4400+ will bottleneck the 8800gts g92? and I thought it was high enough.... well anyway atleast it beats my current single core 64 3200+ winchester.

Oscar has a point. if you get a nice gpu then your cpu will hold you back. if you get a new cpu your ram will hold you back, then you will have to get more ram, once you get all that your motherboard will hold you back. and by this time you practically have a custom computer.

i had a brand new phenom about 2 weeks ago and it was holding my gpu back, and thats the best amd out.

i switched to intel....shhh =]

People think that custom is cheaper, its really not. What it is is that you get more bang for your buck, you pay alot but you get something thts twice as good as a retail for the same price.
