brand better than dell?

iam buying a laptop soon but i want the right laptop
is there a brand that fits these needs
17''+ widescreen
semi-light
good warrenty
customizeable(if needed)
under 2k

For around $1400, you can get a system with the following:

I'm pretty sure DELL would be prosecuted under the sale of goods act (1994) if they were selling used parts as new in systems. That combined with the fact everyone would return it if it was used. Obviously not true
 
I love my new dell lappy, great customer service buying it too...i do like some of those hp lappys too, some girl here at school has one and its a geogeous laptop.
i say go with the dell, u cant go wrong and have money to spare as well.
 
Yah I about had a heartattack when I saw a solid black HP laptop at the store. Everything was black..it was amazing. I love black, so I just wanted to steal it. I like my black and silver Compaq, but solid black...mmm...that takes the cake.

I've seen some nice ones to. But the one complaint I have, is too many blue lights. Besides the blue lights for Num Lock, Caps Lock, wireless, ect, there were just random blue lights scattered about.

I haven't seen the black compaq's, but I used to have a silver one, however that didn't look to good.
 
Yah blue lights are "in" I guess. My Compaw has mostly orange lights, but 2-3 blue ones as well.

Mine is exactly like this. The lid is black along with the bottom.

Thats what I used to have... When you said yours was black, I was picturing it like HP black.

Maybe if you like black soo much, you should check out the computer company Lenovo(IBM). Almost all their laptops are black.

And they are also thousands of dollars :P IBM makes business oriented laptops mostly, VERY sub-par performance when it comes to gaming and such, limited upgradability. But they are great notebooks, my dad has one and it's a tank.

don't waste your money on a microsoft based pile of poo, buy yourself an apple laptop. they are beautifully crafted, excellent battery performance and look so much better than any pc laptop on the market. in addition, it won't crash every 30minutes and tell you it wants to send an error report to "help improve m$"

id like a 17'' widescreen and apple has that for 2800 i can get that for 1600 for dell my parents have dells no probs
