Brand New Desktop

So I am not sure if any of you have heard of a game called Star Wars : The Old Republic. It is an MMORPG coming out on December 20th, and I just got done playing the beta. My only complaint is that I am only getting 15 Frames per second in the game. The reason for this is because I'm using a Mac Book Pro. This is why it is time for me to get a new computer. I am really a veteran when it comes to USING a computer. But I am a beginner when it comes to specifications like graphics cards, processors, etc. I would really appreciate if someone could help me choose a computer that will be able to play SWTOR at around 60-100 frames per second. I would really want to be able to get the best computer I can for the cheapest amount of money.. All I want it to do is play SWTOR. It also has to be a desktop, because I am tired of laptops. I heard on another forum that it's way cheaper to buy computer parts and put the computer together yourself, and if that is the case, let me know. If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me. I am on a budget of 600$ or under. Thank you so much for your help!

That budget is a little too low if you want to get 60-100 FPS on the highest settings. For low-medium settings, then yeah, you might be able to pull it off. Do you have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc?

I don't have a monitor or keyboard, but I have a mouse. I just need a cheap keyboard and a decent monitor, I don't need a fancy gaming keyboard.

You can get a cheap keyboard for about $20, and monitors would go for about $100 for a decent resolution. My advice would be to save up some more money, because windows alone is $100, hard drive prices are through the roof, and $600 is a bit of a challenge to get that decent of a framerate on a new game.

It is definitely a bad time to build a computer unless you can get a hard drive from somewhere else other than buying one new.

What if I use an external hard drive? And also I found a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA hard drive for 90 dollars brand new. Is that a good deal?

well aren't a lot of external hdd's just a regular hdd in a case or something. but yeah, it would be best to save up for a little while.
