Brands of Portrait/Landscape monitors ????

Hi all, my very first post here so be nice to me please.

I been thinkin I need to get a new monitor that has portrait and landscape modes but its been a real pain in the ass finding which monitors do those two modes.

I go on Samsungs website to see which monitors have the MagicRotation feature and they have conflicting information and not included information on which models.

BestBuy, Compusa and Office Depot just to name a few of the sites I have looked at all list different options for some of the same Samsung models.

As an example, the Samsung 225BW is listed on some websites saying it does pivot and do portait mode while other websites say it does not.

So I guess my question would be which monitors, brands and models pivot and do portrait mode, monitors in the 20 to 24 inch sizes.

I have seen LG listed as a possible brand but so far all I know is "some" Samsungs do portrait mode.

Do you mean that you want the monitor's base to have twist so you can physically turn the monitor to portrait mode, or that you need the monitor to be able to display things correctly (not distorted) while in portrait mode? If it's the latter, I think it depends mostly on your video card.

If it's the former, most monitor stands suck and you can get a third-party stand that'll do pretty much everything for about $30USD. Just make sure the monitor is VESA mounting compliant.
 
Don't pay $400 for a 20" monitor. If you don't want a third-party stand, I know most brands start using good stands at 24" now. When a manufacturer puts out an LCD monitor, they want to save as much money as possible by doing things like not including the DVI cable, and using crappy stands. When a manufacturer just makes a stand you can expect something better. Here is mine, it was $30 at Staples and I believe about $35 at Amazon.com:

Anyone else care to chime in and list or mention the brands and models of 20 to 22 " monitors that pivot for portrait mode ?
