Hi guys, I have a bit of a situation.
First of all, I hate Windows 7's Paint. I can't stand the new UI, and they've taken out some important features from earlier builds of Paint. I know it's possible to port apps from Vista to 7, so I'm wondering why it's so hard getting Vista's Paint up and running? I brought mspaint.exe over and tried to open it, got an "Unable to create document." error. So, I looked on the net for a while and found two .dlls Paint uses, mfc42u.dll and oleaut32.dll. Although I had to boot a live CD to properly replace the two .dlls (because one of them was in constant use at the time), I replaced 7's two .dlls with Vista's, but it still won't work. What more could I possibly do?
Also, please don't ask me why I don't like 7's Paint or recommend me alternate software. I do not like the new Paint, and I'm not interested in installing more programs, I simply want Vista's Paint on 7.
