Just of late my Broadband is just playing up on some site it fast, while other ( connection time is running out, if I keep clicking it reappers! )

anyway I restarted the modem ( BT vogar 205) and it says I have 8meg Broadband then after a minture is becomes 2.2,

I;m thinking that i need new driver to sole this problem? I;m I correct> or Im I going down the garden path! :confused:
 
What service are you paying for 8meg?

It could be BT, is this happening all the time?

I do not know about BT's fair usage, but Tiscali do put a cap on people.
 
Are you using a router also? Since you didn't mention it, I assume that you dont. If so, try restarting it also or turning them off for like a couple hours or even a day and try again. As far as the firmware, that might be very well it because they may have been a bug that was patched in a firmware update.
 
try phoning BT....

also, if BT use a "shared" connection where they share say a 100mb line betweeen a few houses, it could be an issue where someone in one of the other houses is using the internet heavily, although it is highly unlikely.
