I thought it would be funny to mess around with my friends little brither. So i went into his room and flicked the switch on his power supply off (the computer wasnt running it was off)

I went round there today and asked me friend 'was it funny when his computer wouldnt turn on' and then he told me that the pc is broken

It wont turn on at all,

so can flicking the power switch on a power supply off, even when the PC is turned, off damage anything? Or could it just be a co incidence that one of his hardware broke that day at random.

Lol meanman i thought that at first but i gave it a quick look over and it wasnt working, i didnt go into the machine tho as i was in a rush. Its ok though in a way cause he shoud be getting a new £2000 PC next week lucky bugger

hmm did you check the surge protector? maybe it was tripped somewhere during the operation? otherwise, make sure you didnt jostle the computer, which can actually unplug components that may have rattled their plugs out a little, happened to me before

I doubt an floppy drive could stop an whole system :D Usually the PSU has clips to clip on the mobo so that should not be the prob. The BROTHER could have switched the 110/220V thingy...

Since you were the one messing with it, I think you need to buy him a new one. Do not mess with another persons stuff!

lol what I think is he couldn't get it to turn on so he kicked it or did something stupid, then figured out what it was and didn't want to admit what he had done.

Chill dude I don't think the PC is toast. I bet its just a fuse gone in either the lead going to the PC or the fuse in the PSU.

When you go to turn on the PC, does it show any signs of life?
If not try a different lead and check the fuses.

Yeah I think its safe to say a fuse has blown, just hope its the one in the lead and not the one in the PSU.
