Broken LCD

Hi, I just bought a SONY vaio about a week ago. My LCD cracked, and I don't know how. I bought it from a Best Buy and I was wondering if they would be able to fix it for free under something like a 30 day warranty. SONY said they needed to see it, but I don't think they will do it because a cracked LCD can't happen on it's own and technically it would be considered my fault, but even if I did send it, I don't have the time to because I am starting college in a week and I need it. If anyone could help me out here it would be greatly appreciated.
 
well if it is under 30 days they should. you could also call and they should tell you if you can
 
If you didn't hit the screen with anything it MIGHT be from shipping but I doubt it. Screens don't just crack on their own. If it was cracked from shipping it should've been noticable the first time you turned it on. I doubt that BB will replace it as it's not a manufacturing defect but abuse.
