iv been building a pc 4 fun, the last of the essential componants arrived today.

so i put it all together.

to start nothing happende - ie, no fans, no sound of wineing etc, nothing. but iv sorted that.

only thing is, wen i boot up, i hear normal pc sounds, and the fans spin, lights turn on etc. but nothing appears on my screen!!??

ive tried a few ~working~ screens but nothing. what can i do??? it could be my processor coz even without the heatsink and fan it doesnt get warm at all. (it was 2nd hand :( ) or my graphics card but i tend to think its the processor.

If u need 2 know the specs of the hardware i can tell.

Thanks for any ideas hope i get it working :(

How the hell did you test this!! dont ever run a cpu without a hsf and fan attached, it will burn out in a matter of second.

Since your fans power on the it doesnt sound psu related. Are you sure you GPU is pushed in hard and correctly. All monitor power and connector up and running?
If all yes the cpu is a good bet as to the problem. Do you have any other cpu you can test in it?
EDIT: or any other rig you can test that cpu out on.

i only left it on 4 a few seconds  I could ask a friend 2 test the processor on their pc.
as for the GPU...er...i think so. tried a few times.
i dont have another processord either, again i could ask 2 borrow a friends.

btw, yeh the monitor light turns on when i press the on/off switch so there is power. and a light on the mobo turns on. and the light on the on/off switch at the front of the pc works.

Pull out all the ram and boot the computer - do you hear any beep codes? If you do then put back the ram and pull out the video card and boot the computer again - did the beep codes change? If it did then chances are your processor are working.

Its going to be coming from a small buzzer in the motherboard or case, you dont need any headphones or speakers.
