Browser is GONE - how to access internet

I replaced IE9 with Chrome a while back, but when the automatic Windows Update was installed recently - CHROME would no longer work. After several failed attempts, I finally UNINSTALLED Chrome from the Control Panel w/the "plan" to re-install it using Internet Explorer; however, I forgot that I had previously DELETED IE to eliminate problems I was having w/the system when I first installed CHROME...so now I have NO Browser. I tried to restore the system to the point prior to this last Windows Update - but that failed! I tried to restore again w/Kasperski paused - still failed to restore. I don't want to have to reset to factory image if possible. Is there a way to get to the Internet and download CHROME via a Command Prompt? All else seems to be working normally at this time?? Thanks for any help....please keep in mind that I OBVIOUSLY am not a computer savvy individual...so be gentle :confused:

download the chrome install file, stick it on a usb drive, then stick it in the other computer and install.
 
IE is build in to Windows, I don't think you could have uninstalled IE.

I don't think you can even Delete it.

I would suggest navigating to your main Operating Systems partition and finding IE, then re-creating the shortcut for IE. (e.g. C:\Program Files\....if it is still there).

Or do what Jonnyp11 said....
 
You can uninstall it from Add or Remove windows components. But it doesnt really uninstall it or remove it. It just removes the short cuts to it. In Add or Remove windows they just need to recheck IE and hit ok.

I'm glad I checked back as I did not receive any e-mails notifying me of your responses...THANK you for your support!!!
I guess I "assumed" I deleted IE because when I searched for it at the Start Menu (I searched for "explorer" "internet" "browser" - but IE never showed up and I could not find it anywhere when navigating the hard drive - also was not a choice in Add/Remove section.
So here is what I did in the end....I removed each recent Windows Update (took about an hour) and then restarted and then I forced a Windows Update....after some time...IE8 was then on there and all seems good now.
I don't know if every time the system does a Windows Update, IE will try to fight w/Chrome again, so I am not going to try to re-install Chrome....which is a shame cause it seems cleaner and faster.
Separately downloading Chrome onto thumb drive and downloading it into the system would have been the next step if this didn't work....that should have been obvious to me....thanks johnnyp11! :)
