Browser issue!

I use explorer 7 and whenever I open a page say “yahoo or myebay” the page opens like the last time I was there, and if I want to get the latest information I have to refresh the page.
Example; I open yahoo and the stories on that page I just opened are like yesterdays news and I have to refresh the page to get the latest stories. Sometimes the stories are days old even though I been to that page since and refreshed it several times or eBay, say I had something on watch; I delete the watch after the items was sold, I got back and it’s still on watch? I delete it again and the next time I go back to myebay page it’s there again, after being deleted twice? WTF!

Any help in sorting this out would be greatly appreciated!

Besides IE 7 whatelse are you running for IE security and firewalls or internet security programs? Sometimes a protective program won't alllow the active x controls to refresh the page you are visiting. In IE 7 a security bar comes up at the top where you right click on that to allow downloads when a download stalls or simply to install the active x controls for a specific site.

When you see that appear simply right click on it and choose the install active x. The animations and other things seen on a typical web will simply appear as lifeless blocks until the active x controls are running. With the one or more page you are having problems with the active x controls and possibly Java runtime problems are hampering you there.

The security bar that appears will have the options seen there to try out unless the version of Norton you are running is not allowing a normal logon with an IE security feature running. Generally the security bar or a Windows prompt about a need for installing runtime will appear otherwise.

I don't get that "you need to install active X" every time I open a page, thats only on pages that run on active x isn't it?

If the bar comes up then that is being prompted by the particular web site you are on at the time. You would only see that on the first visit unless you simply never installed the active x controls on previous visits.

And yes mainly it depends on the scripts a page has on it. If you arrive on a new page and see the small boxes or blocks with little red Xs instead of any ads that would normally be seen then the active x controls are installed.

I think I just fixed it, I went to internet options-----> advanced and hit restore default settings and it didn't do it, see how it goes ;-)

The default settings in IE 7 should see the security bar appear if anything is needed or you are being prompted for the decision on a download. Another thing that can be done is a reinstall if you are not able to get anyway in case of problem with IE itself.
