BSOD after load optimized settings on BIOS

Hi ComputerForum users for the very first time.

I'm having quite a problem right now with one of my freshly formated PC's, i'm getting a very fast, more like a flash, bluescreen of death after the windows logo and then restart i can't see which error it is. BTW, i had windows xp pro before, then format and installed windows 7 successfully and worked just fine with it but decided to reinstall windows xp because windows 7 simply wouldn't support some software i really needed going. So 2 days ago i formated my hard drive that had windows 7 with windows xp boot CD and installed XP but after that it started to give me errors i think they were something like DRIVE or DISK UNKNOWN ERROR, since i've almost lost my head searching for an answer for this error but i remember that windows logo didn't even appear, and then i found somewhere someone saying i could go to BIOS and load the optimized settings and that's what i did, now it goes throught the windows logo but then the stupid blue screen comes on and off in just micro seconds, not even letting me see which error it is, and then PC reboots. And this goes over and over.

Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

Sounds like you had either raid mode or ahci mode enabled before and now it got set back to IDE or vice versa. Check your bios for what setting the sata controller is set as.

I'll see that tomorrow right away since that might really be the problem 'cause when i use the windows boot cd it says that the setup cannot continue because there aren't any storage drives detected or something. BTW can you give any directions to help me get the thing right in the BIOS? Like in which lines the error might be?

Depends on if its a custom built or store bought. Just look through the bios settings, you won't miss it.

But yeah, that definately sounds like this is your problem since the install can't find the hard drive.
