BSOD on new computer

I had to find a real cheap solution to a bad outdated motherboard so i got http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148240 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138187 and kept the same pci express video card and HD. Got everything going yesterday and am being told it is getting the BSOD/physical memory dump thing about 6 times today.

Would this be a bad stick of ram or maybe not compatable with that MB? If so does anyone have experience returning memory to newegg? Is it just as easy as everything else?

You should test the memory and other hardware first before returning it to Newegg. If you can, download Memtest86+ and let that run about 5 passes and see if any errors come up in the memory. If so, then return the memory. If not, then download SeaTools and scan the HDD for any bad sectors.

It better not be the HD, it is only a year old. Also I don't remember why but I had a helluva time trying to run memtest a couple years ago, couldn't get it to go. Is there a link to easy to follow directions maybe?

I remember the problem now..burning the ISO....got an idea on a good free burning software..like an all in one, dvd, cd and ISO?

Ok 3 passes on memtest so far and nothing..a few more passes if nothing gonna do a HD check...if that comes up fine then what? Could it be a compatability issue with the ram and MB?

Have you checked in the bios to see if the memory is running at its stock timing and voltage? Did you do a clean install of the OS?

Have not checked the memory in the bios but it is a clean install of windows. If I check it and it is normal then what?

When you changed the ram, mobo and cpu did you reinstall windows.

Doing major upgrades and leaving your HD alone with the old settings, you will get BSOD there as well.
