Hi guys just signed up as I'm in need of some help.
I've recently built a new PC for gaming / media, It's been fine for months now unfortunately while in work my partner was using the computer to play Skyrim, where she encountered a BSOD, she switched it off via the plug and left it.
When I returned home the monitor was receiving "no signal" on the screen despite everything being plugged in correctly and no loose connections. I decided to unplug the GPU and use the on-board graphics to no avail. then it decided not to post, so assumed the GPU wasn't getting the required voltage? I swapped the RAM over whilst keeping them in the same DIMMS and it powered on fine, the screen locked on the desktop after 30mins but has been fine since the second boot.
However windows, now only sees 4Gb of ram rather than 8Gb, both slots register in the BIOS and CPU-Z reads 8gb RAM in single channel mode? The computer received "no signal" if the RAM from B1 is in A1, but works fine vice versa.
Could this be a RAM or motherboard problem? All components are slightly over a month old. there appears to be no damage to RAM connections or motherboard, baffled how it's seen in the BIOS but not used? and its been fine before the BSOD, can't find any info regarding the crash in the minidump folder assuming because it was switched off. Also the Temperatures are fine, system hasn't been over clocked or overheated, CPU/GPU sit at 44/60oc comfortably while gaming.
For reference I'm using:
A8 6600k APU
ASUS A88-XMA
(x2) 4Gb Hyper X Savage DDR3 @1600mhz
Thanks in advance for any help!
