BSOD with overclocking failed, help!

Hello, Im running my amd phenom II 1075 with all cores unlocked at 3.5ghz using the turbo evo overclocking software. After an hour or two of uptime, screen goes black, pc crashes and reboots, then it shows bios screen with overclocking failed.. Then it relocks the cores and restores the speeds to stock freqs. Is my cpu fried? I find it hard to believe that it cant handle 3.5ghz with stock cooling, its running at 45C under load... Should I go to a 1100T? I hate the fact that the multiplier and cores are locked out of the box.

It did exactly what it was supposed to do with a failed overclock. Instead of using software, use the bios to manually overclock. The 1075 has no cores to unlock. Its a six core and six cores is all it has.

i need a guide to oc on the asus crosshair formula. the 1075t comes with 2 cores locked with 4 operational. A guide would be awesome, that way i can get a stable manual OC

There is a overclocking guide on the forum, alittle old but still serves its purpose.

The 1075 is a six core, doesnt have two core locked. The only Phenom II thats like that, is the Phenom II 970T. Its really a 6 core with 2 cores disabled. It really has a Thuban core, but they call it a Zosma core. But it is just a OEM rare to come across processor.

i was using asus core unlocker, which was causing the bsod and overclocking failures. didnt know core unlocker causes so many problems
