BSOD's... Again!

Can Gparted format a partition of a drive, because I have work that I can't loses on it.

If you run gParted and tell it to, yes, it can. Don't run gParted though... only do that if you want to reformat... I'm saying to go into the computer folder and see if you can view your files. :)

Well, I have a bootable Ubuntu CD, but I couldn't find out how to run it like a live CD. lol

Is there a live CD ISO image anywhere?

Well, I don't mind formatting one of the partitions as I made one seperate for the OS, incase something like this happened. So all of the files that I need are on a seperate partition.

Thanks for the help man, I'll send you a cookie if all this works out! :)

Thanks, Chris! How big is the Live CD? I can't look it up on my iPod. Thanks again.

I may start using Ubuntu, looks good!

Linux Live CD's(Knoppix especially and to some extent Ubuntu) are a godsend. Saved me from many a problems in the past.

Ah sorry. I completely forgot to post back. I've been busy with shoppin' and the other guff

I tested both HDD's with Drive Fitness Test and they both came out Ok. I also used the Ubuntu Live CD for a while, no problems. I was able to access both drivers with it, too. So I backed up my Uni work and other important files. Then, I re-installed Windows. I made a partition on one of my HDD's. So the OS now has it's own partition in case I need to re-install it at some point, I won't lose any data.

I put it down to so bad SATA drivers from nFroce. Since my HDD's and everything else were Ok. I'd read up on them causing some problems for other people, too. This time around I'm not installing them, so far so good. :)
