BSOD's on friends laptop help

So my friends laptop has a possible error with the hardrive, when trying to boot up it BSOD's too quick to tell what it is but we managed to get some photos, i plugged the hard drive into my PC and windows corrected some errors with it, im running malwarebytes on it to remove any possible malware, after that i was going to run one of Western Digitals softwares to try to fix it.

Its a small western digital laptop hard drive with a 160gb capacity.

The Images should be stuck together to make 1 screen, sorry about the HUGE images

Tried testing the RAM? Download Memtest86 and run it overnight. It could be a possible dying hard drive as you mentioned - do you have another you could try?

No other hard drive i could try, i will try running memtest, thanks!

If Memtest shows up with no errors, then you probably have a dying hard drive. If it's still errorless enough to recover, you can run Clonezilla to try and recover your data onto a new drive:

Thanks, well im suprised, all the data shows up fine for me, im copying it over to an external hard drive right now so i dunno whats up with it!

Did Windows install onto the HDD OK without any errors? Can you hear the HDD making audible clicking noises if you listen closely to the drive?

If Memtest comes back and says everything is fine, I'd suggest reinstalling Windows and then if it is still playing up after that, I'd think about replacing the HDD.

Its not my hard drive so i havent installed windows on to it, no noises and okay will do.

Have you literally just picked his laptop up and used it for a bit and it's blue screened? I'd say reinstalling Windows is one of the first things to do in that case, after checking the memory.

Since your system has corrected errors on his drive, put the drive back in his system and see if it boots up. Not much I can recommend doing until this is done and get new results. Follow the advice in my PM about disabling automatic restart on error if it bluescreens again so we can get a code.
