it is overkill. unless you do some extreme things (gaming not included) you'll NEVER use that much. 4gb is enough, 6 max (depends on the board you get of course).
Haha, you've got to be joking?? That setup will play games on whatever settings you like for the next 5 years. If it was me, i would spend a hell of a lot less on ram, and buy more games! Honestly, if your not happy with an i7, you wont ever be happy.
most people get to 4.0 ghz without even thinking about breaking a sweat. although, to get there you'll need a different heatsink. stock won't even come close to cutting it.
