A P31 will basically OC as good as a P35. P35 just has more features :cool:

If he's not gaming, I'd still give him a good card (SuperClocked 8800GS = $99 at Newegg)...
 
 
You'll need some extra cooling, there's no way that you can have an Athlon 6000+ (which is hot running) and an 8800GS Superclocked. That case has only 1 rear fan which has to cope with the GFX card's heat and the CPU's heat, plus if it's anything like the fans on mine it'll struggle to pull the skin off a rice pudding.
 
my 6000+ runs cool on stock cooling idle at 27-29 an load at 43-46
an the CPU i put in there is a 5600+ which is 65nm unlike the 6000+ with it's 90nm so it will run cooler than a 6000+.
anyway where did you get 6000+ from? it is a 5600+
 
Don't get E2160 because E2180 cost only $2 more at newegg

Don't get E6750 because E8400 cost only $10 more
