Budget build advice/tweaks

Go for an i5 3570K.

Go for a Corsair CX 600 PSU instead.

Get a cheaper case such as the Zalman Z11 and spend more on your graphics card and get a 660.

With the promo the case is good imo. Could save 20 if that 20 makes a big diff on a piece of hardware.
3570K is only 10 more and since I wouldn't run 1 stick of esp that memory, get 2x4GB and you can save the 10 buy using the plithera of RAM combo's the 3570K has.
imo there's better ps's in the $80 range. Seasonic/Antec HCG are a couple.

In the 700 price range I would highly consider FX-6300.

Do you have an OS?

Thank you to everyone for the replies. I will probably end up having to buy a new windows OS. For only $10 the 3570 definitely looks good. I'll take a look into the FX-6300.

Are you saying you wouldn't run the promo corsair RAM? The 3570 has a combo with some G. Skill I was looking at already.

@SpringWater I'll take a look at the 7850 as well.

@Spirit The 660 looks to be a bit too pricey but thanks for the PSU suggestion.

Yep. You nailed it.
1 stick would run as single channel.
It's too tall if the RAM slot nearest the cpu is needed, which would most likely interfere w/ 3rd party cooler installation.
@ 10 the latency is high, compared to lower/better 9 that's pretty cheap. Sometimes you can find 8 around the same price as 9.
So, you could wind up with 16GB for 50 bucks, but it's tall and higher latency and 8GB is plenty.

I wouldn't choose the board based on that free memory. If that's the board you want I'd just sell the free memory. But, that board has no combo deals so you might find another one of your parts combo'd with a good Gigabyte or Asus for a bit of savings.

GSkill is excellent.

FX is a better $700 fit. Does the OS have to be included in the 700?

OS not included in the $700.Any recommendations on a board for the FX-6300?
With 7850 2GB it's over by $23. 43 with Blackhawk or right at 700 is you count the -45 mir/gift. Or a diff 50ish case.
Don't need as much as 650w but considering its a Seasonic sibling and the promo, don't know of another worthy atm for any less.
cpu cooler might be a good place for mir's and gift card.

Since 2500K isn't a real option because of price a person could cheap out in a couple places to get a 3570K in there.
