Budget Build Any Help?

Well anyway, presuming you're intending to game on this, I would recommend this system :

CPU: Intel Core i3-2120 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock H77M Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Radeon HD 6870 1GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Silverstone Strider Essential 700W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V

This will come to around $550.
Adding your monitor, it would come to around $700. But, you could decrease the price by a lot if you get a cheaper monitor. I would get a monitor that is no more than $100.

This system will run most games at medium-high settings.

If I was wrong and you're not going to game on it, the only thing I would change is the processor.

I appreciate the help, but you gave me a better graphics card and for a monitor less than 100 that wouldnt allow me to play in 1080p.. so thats kind of counter productive, not to mention you not including a cd drive. i think im happy with what ive chosen. thanks for your time though.

The things I didn't mention was the things that I left for the ones you chose, I thought you would have known that.

You can get monitors for $100 or slightly less that will play your games in 1080p. I think you need to look more.

Trust me, the system I chose compared to the one you did is definitely better.

okay, you can save money on the monitor and still come out ahead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009306 for example. You will not find a good one for less than 100 though.

This drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148337 is $10 cheaper, only marginally slower (we are talking less than 10MB/s) and a larger drive (1.5TB vs 1TB).

If you want to stay with AMD, get a FX4100 over the 955. It is a better processor, and only slightly more expensive. Also get a cooler and OC the heck out of it if you know how to do that. If not, go in the BIOS and choose the auto OC app and set it to 4.5 or so.

Graphics, get a 7770 or GTX650/GTX660 and you will be better off.

You do not not need HDMI, the adapter, or the power cord. Those will come with the graphics card and power supply. Also, use DVI for the video, not HDMI. The picture quality will be the same and you don't need to buy a cable as it comes with the monitor.

Power supply is junk. Get something in the 500 watt or more range from Antec, Corsair, NZXT, OCZ, PC power and cooling, Seasonic, Silverstone, or XFX. I hear that Kingwin and Coolermaster are okay too.

FWIW, if you're getting Intel, I would probably just stick with the stock cooler unless you're planning to overclock. Intel chips are very good with power consumption and heat output, there isn't much an aftermarket cooler will do except reduce noise - but the stock cooler noise levels are very reasonable, unless you really want an ultra-quiet build.

Even for noise I don't think the investment pays for itself. My 212 evo is louder than the stock intel cooler. But neither can be herd above the 480 when gaming or folding. Really I only notice it when I turn the tele off at night.
