budget build/resell

Hey all i'm new to the forum and just wanted some more experienced opinions on a few things. Heres the quick lowdown: I'm leaving the country in 4 months but would like to have a gaming rig for those 4 months. So i have a low/medium budget with which i would like to build a gaming comp that can play most everything thats out now and then resell it before i leave and potentially make a little money or at least strike even. So heres what i have put together on newegg, and keep in mind i tried to pick a case and mobo with which a potential buyer could expand with without having to change up a lot of things. also i have built 1 rig in the past and updated it occasionally.

in summary all of this would cost about 780 before mail in rebates and whatnot (also a little more than i had originally intended but i tried to make sure everything was quality even if not top notch in performance). i realize that the graphics card and the processor aren't the newest out there but with a good mobo, fast hdd and quality ram i think that anyone who is not computer savvy enough to build their own rig would find this build to be a good buy if it was priced around 850-950 when i resell it.
so any suggestions and comments on things to change to increase performance or resale value are much appreciated. thanks!

thanks, i took a look at your build and just had a few responses/questions. in regards to the cpu/vid card combo the one you purchased is no longer going on but i found one that i think is pretty similar http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.365687. also, i was looking to spend under 800 and your build doesn't include the cd/dvd burner and wirless network card, both of which i need. also as far as the case that comes with the psu it seems that almost every single review i read on cases that came with their own power supply was negative. either the cords from the psu didnt reach the areas they needed to or the connectors were the wrong kind or too few. did u experience any of those problems when connecting everything to the psu?
 
That is a pretty reasonable rig I would say. You will be able to play everything that is out there, but you surely won't need 640 GB hdd, although I realize that they are damn cheap these days, I'm sure you can save 20 dollars and go and have a nice meal for that ;)

Your video card is more than you need, I think crysis which is the game that requires most that I now off, only wants you to have about 512 mb of graphics card (the minimal is 256, but to play it fully I would go up to 512) also I don't think you will need 4GB of ram, 2 would be plenty (win7 needs about 750 mb and crysis 1 gb so 2 gb will be plenty). I'm not sure about your CPU, crysis recommended is 4.2 ghz, but I guess that is for a single core so you should be fine, you even could downgrade a bit if you really wanted to save money.

I'm not an expert, some of it may be wrong, so I would wait until some more experienced people criticize my post ;) but in my eyes just for 4 months what you have is a tad over what you would need.
 
ok david thanks, i kinda thought the rig was pretty well set up for the price. what do you think about selling it? i figure i could at least hit even which is all i really need, do you agree? i mean i just went to newegg and put together an almost identical rig to the basic alienware aurora, which costs 1334 which i think is before shipping, for only 11,04 and some change. so i figure a smart person who doesnt want to build their own comp. will realize this rig will play most anything and save them some money in the process. ha at least thats what im hoping
 
That's definitely true... If you downgraded the parts I suggested you would get a lot less interested people than if you kept it that way... But your talking about a lot of time in 4 months there will be a lot of new hardware... At the moment to a person that doesn't know much about comps that for about a grand would seem like a bargain, but I'm not sure about what they'll think about it in 4 months. You can easily find out the value of that kind of rig by going to an electrical store close around were you live that doesn't specialize in computers and look at a similar rig... They are way overpriced but an uninformed customer doesn't know that... ;)
 
I'll switch out the psu. Some of Raidmax psu aren't good quality. Go with Corsair, Antec, OCZ, silverstone, or Thermaltake(Pretty sure there are others).
 
Ya for your budget i would run with a 600 or 700w ocz modxstream they are plenty reliable for your system you will be building.

Other than that just try to get a radeon hd 5770 to fit in your build. If not a 4870 are good cards too and maybe slightly cheaper or a 5750 works too.

For gaming the video card matters more than the processor you just dont want to bottleneck either.
