Budget computer ~500

Overclocking isn't for beginners. Read a lot about it if you decide to try it. I doubt you can do it with Original Equipment Manufacturer (Dell) anyway. They don't allow the option in their BIOS.

Overclocking causes a system to run less stable and generally only boosts performance by about ten to twenty percent. If you do it wrong you can damage your system components.

I would seriously think about buying another power supply to replace the poor quality one Dell will likely give you.

And even then, WILL you be able to replace the PSU? Dell uses a BTX as a standard for their computers. Last time I heard, $300 or so for a PSU that was 100W higher.

blah

ok ok hehe lets forget ocing...
lets just think the monitor cost me 200, so this core 2 quad/3gig ram computer cost me 480.. which i think is decent if not really well priced.

im sure itll last me years as i will be doing normal graphic design. the most strenuous thing will be a combination of Photoshop/lightroom/firefox/dreamweaver/flash at the same time

i dont think i need an i7 chip for that :) i would build one but my friend and I are working on a site and i need a decent computer to do my part.. it will generate money. and if it does ill build one after researching a lot.
