are you still going with the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130254 motherboard? if so, then no, you won't need to change. just got to get one that is compatible with the socket type of the cpu.

What is thermal paste? Is it necessary? Does it make a significant difference in performance/cooling/whatever it does?

i vote g. skill. have a set (not those exact ones) and i love them. never had any problems.
