Well their processors only work with their chipsets. bulldozer isn't the best, an older phenom II x4 would be better if they are in-stock around you, otherwise an i3-2100/2120 might be better.

I mean motherboards made by Intel as opposed to say a Gigabyte motherboard with a 1155 socket.

no, intel mobos are crap for anything but just running it. they aren't good for overclocking or anything and really the other brands (gigabyte/msi/asus) are probably better quality too, but with an i3 you can't overclock anyways so that's not a big deal.

I'm not interested in overclocking, but seeing as the other brands give so much more variety i may go with one of them :good:

Just wondering, if I got a crossfire capable AMD motherboard would it be possible to combine the power of the onboard graphics PLUS two cheap end GPUs?

The onboard can't and even if it could it wouldn't add hardly any performance. Also getting 2 low-end cards isn't recomended, the performance upgrade compared to one upper end card isn't too much, and you're also stuck buying a higher power power supply, driver issues in new games sometimes, and more heat, plus you'd have to replace 2 cards instead of buying another one to use with the current one, so the upgrade path is less with 2 low-end cards.

To answer an earlier question, pci wifi cards have better connectivity and longer ranges (I think), and better signal strength.
