Budget Gaming Computer

Hi Folks

I'm looking at buying a gaming computer and I've done a bit of research and found some that I believe to be good deals. I'm looking to get something that has a decent Video Card and Ram as I want to be able to play Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 when they come out without any problems. Let me also mention that I an from CANADA. So all of the links will be .ca not .com I would like to leep my budget around $800 at the most. I am not worried about hard drive space a I use a MacBook Pro as my main computer.

I can also get 40% of any computer from hpshopping.ca as I have a relative that works for them and they have a once time offer of any product for 40% off.

I am hesitant to get one of the HP's simply because the graphics cards seem very basic and slow as well the processors seem just borderline basic.

I have been looking on Newegg and Tiger Direct and Newegg had one that I really liked.

I have been looking at the kits that are available but I have no idea how to build a computer and I dont wanna buy every single part individually as I would probably lose something or forget to buy something.

If you have suggestions of computers for me to get please feel free to post the link but remember to visit sites like Tigerdirect.ca, newegg.ca ad such with .CA because I am from Canada.

Thanks for everyones help!

well building is really easy, and we could give you a list of stuff to buy on a wishlist on a site or something and all you would have to do is order it, if you want to build one, but im also in canada, and i have never in my life seen anything that would be even decent at gaming for 800, it just doesnt happen up here unfortunately. building would be your best bet, but if you really dont want to build, you are for sure right on not getting an HP. althought the one you linked is decent, but do you have a monitor already?

if you want to just use the tv that computer would be fine, if not you will have to buy a monitor too, but thats an alright computer for that price there, the one you linked.

Could you maybe make up a wishlist/list here of what you would suggest for around $800 whether its form tiger direct or newegg or where ever, im curious to see the pricing, I have a couple friends who know how to put them together and I looked at the tutorial and it didnt look too hard.

yeah give me a few

Just gonna use my TV but why dont you just list a couple good models so I can add it in just to see pricing and what not

you can get a decent monitor for ~120 for like a 22in i think.

will see what bonehead posts and say any changes, also look at canadacaomputers.com, guessing canadian since you said a canadian hp site, but they seem to have good prices and the shipping is better since it isn't being shipped from america.

Thanks, had a couple questions. Are there 2 Graphics cards there? Why are there 2 hard drives and do I need a specific size case?

thanks for the shopping cart. Realized that none of my friends are where I am cause I moved away for school and it's probably best if I stay away from individual parts.

Saw these guys a little more then I want to spend but I would rather spend a bit more then have to upgrade the computer in a year or so

Newegg 2 (Simple but has an Geforce video card) - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...tAlsoView-_-83-227-334_7_sCB_-_-__83-227-321_

Newegg 3 (This bad boy was on sale) - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...AlsoView-_-83-229-264_17_sCB_-_-__83-229-221_

Newegg 4 (Bit more then the one above but less ram and different processor brand) - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...AlsoView-_-83-229-221_10_sCB_-_-__83-227-321_

ok i read the reviews on the 3rd on there, i would say go with that one, and you could always buy some more ram if needed, but 4 should be decent for the time being, but ram is so cheap if it starts to get slow just throw some more in there, and you could always save up for another of the same graphics card too and throw that in there in a few months if the comp is lagging on newer games

actually the third is the most powerfull, the second's gpu is a good bit less power full and the 3rd's cpu is perfectly fine although the 2500k is better.

I think im gonna order the third one and see how it runs on 4gb and if needed upgrade to 8gb or would you suggest doing that now?
