Nvidia just announced the release of the GeForce 7300 GS.

The 7300 is a new budget part meant to compete with ATI's X1300. The 7300 GS features 4 pixel pipes, 3 vertex pipes and features a 400 MHz DDR2 memory clock. There is no SLI support, and the 7300 GS's MSRP is $99.

Any idea how the 7300 will compare to the 6800 GS?
the 6800GS is a lot better. The only thing the 7300 and the x1300 has going for them is their name, since they sound like nice cards. But they are really bad, you'd get better performance out of a $80 9600XT card.

thats actually a pretty... bad deal. lol my old 9800pro had 8 pipelines and 4 vertex shaders with a... i think 680mhz memory clock? did you mean 400mhz, or ddr800? probly... ddr400. either way, thats a budget card and wont play games very well because of the lack of pipelines and vertex shaders.

no SLI????

btw, 6600gt is better than a $100 card, obviously. but its still near the bottom :P

6600gt > 7300gs
6800gs > 6600gt
6800gt > 6800gs
7800gt > 6800gt
7800gtx > 7800gt
7800gtx 512mb > all
rumor has it they'll have something comparable to a DDR4 capable of extremely high clocks... higher and cooler than gddr3...
i have a feeling ill be needing a large upgrade in about 2 years. M2 socket, or at least a new cpu for my 939 socket hoping they dont throw away this socket...
and some cards for my pci express SLI mobo...

wait a couple years and get a quad core socket m2 cpu, and an nvidia card with a g80 chip in it.
