Get the Pentium E2160 and Gigabyte 965P-DS3 for $99 for a start

wow now THATS low... just stick with something around at least an e6300 once you lower beyond that you start seeing some serious performace hits, at least thats what the benchmarks i have read say

IMO, get E2160, use the $99 GA-P965-DS3. Save that $30 to get a 8600GT

The E2160 and E6300 are the same speed! The difference is half the cache of the E6300 and a lower bus speed, which equals a higher multiplier which equals a better overclock! Coupled with the DS3 you'd easily get past 3GHz if you have the right RAM.
