buffered ram good?

theres a desktop ram that is buffered and ECC.

but non-ecc, unbuffered is the way to go right? what is the difference between buffered/ecc and non-buffered/non-ecc?
 
ECC can detect errors but it's slower because of it. It's usually server RAM. For a desktop you want unbuffered/non-ecc.
 
Buffered/Registered memory signals are cached where unbuffered are controlled directly from the memory controller.
