my budget is £500 but i want to make it a gaming laptop/pc!

£500 could get you a gaming desktop 
, lets see
£140-Q6600 processor
£90-GeForce 9800GT graphics card
£30-any RAM doesn't matter too much
£90-Biostar TP45 HP good overclocker and cheap mobo
£60-any 600Wish PSU
£30-160gb hard drive
£15-CPU cooler
£50-case such as antec 300
£20-dvd drive
okay that comes to £525 so just a bit over your budget but that will give you a good performance gaming pc, i just made that from scratch if i were you id shop around a bit. Also you have to get an OS, monitor,keyboard mouse etc. Of course you can cut corners a bit, such as making it a dual core insead of quad core. But tbh £500 won't get the best of gaming pcs if you want to include monitor and the OS etc into the £500.
