can anyone tell me if i should build a new computer or keep my current system that i am using now?
i use my computer mainly for gaming, the setup i have atm seems to be struggling running most games at high settings.

what i have at the moment is:

CPU:
intel pendium D 820 290ghz

mainboard:
packard bell BV
cuba MS-7301
can support up to 3 gb

memory:
2GB DDR2

graphics:
NVIDEA GeForce 8400 GS

Lol, I'd say it's a kinda weak system, but it really depends if you haz the funds. :D

i agree its not the best system, but its managed to run most of the games up till now at decent quality.
my budget for a new one will probably be £600+ (depends if i sell my current PC/ laptops im repairing), i dont have the money yet but i should by the end of june.
is that a fair budget for a gaming rig?

umm thats a little low to be honest. If you are traveling to the us anytime soon build the computer there. For that 600 pounds u will get about 1100 dollars

I'm not sure, to be honest I'm not sure if my 1,100 pounds is even right. I don't know the prices of parts in Europe.

ok, thanks anyway. i think prices are higher here than in US, it sucks...
i was hoping to install new RAM, but i doubt theirs any point seeing how it can only handle 3gb and to uprade it any more would mean getting a new motherboard and replacing everthing that was originaly their.

Ok first of all everyone who posted here in my opinion hasnt been very smart.

$922 is plenty to build a pretty good rig with...

The normal currency exchange rate goes at about 2-3% so that leaves you at a little under $900 for parts. Which i will go to 850 for your shipping out of country.

Some parts i imagine are easy to find locally such as the OS or the ODD so you could avoid shipping and conversion cost.

No Monitor here im assuming you have one you can use.
