Im not sure how many wats i will need.

Im not sure if i should get 1 4850 x2 or 2 4850 in crossfire or what.

Please help me to decide on the rest of my parts. I know this is another help me with my build thread but i honestly do need help from you professionals.

I dont use a strap, I just touch something to ground me (like my radiator) before I build (someone correct me if that doesn't make sense).

I would first choose a mother board. I'm assuming you want an SLI board and that you're willing to spend money since your getting an i7 processor :)

EVGA 132-YW-E178-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI FTW ATX Intel Motherboard ($209 after rebate) allows you to put up to 3 graphics cards in SLI and I quote from Newegg, "... the 780i supports full x16 bandwidth across all three slots ....". Most mo bo's downgrade each graphics card to 8x in SLI.

Then, choose parts which will fit on the mother board: PCI Express 2.0 x16 graphics card/s, DDR2 1066 RAM, SATA 3Gb/s hard drive, a power supply which supports SLI and has enough wattage for graphics card/s.

one last thing you need :BELKIN BE112234-10 10 feet 12 Outlets 4120 joule Surge Suppressor

Hope this helps,
Joe

Yes im willing to spend money. I assume you mean DDR3?

I dont know to get a mobo that supports crossfire or ATI. sli is nvidia only right?

LOLOL...

780i runs on a LGA775 socket.

Core i7 runs on a LGA1366 socket.

You fail.

The only motherboard that uses LGA1366 atm is the X58 chipset.

only if that drive is faster than the other drives, thats the only point you would really see any improvement, so yes, you can buy just one hard drive

Ok im gonna go with a smaller drive then. Now all i need is a x58 motherboard and i think im done. What do you suggest guy?

Here is a link of various I7 components

I dont know what your budget is but alot of people like this Asus p6t deluxe board for Ocing as well as ability to either do Crossfire or Sli if needed. There are some cheaper X58 Mb's but I am not too sure about those.maybe some other people could chime in on the cheaper ones who have tried those

it also supports crossfire, i think all the x58's support crossfire, seems to me that intel's x58 is also the only one without sli support

This is the heading, it says 3 way sli. doesnt say anything about crossfire.
So how sure are you?
