Hey guys! I was just wondering if you have any suggestions on this build i have going. I would like it to be a sort of mid range gaming computer with little or no overclocking. thanks a bunch!!

what would be the advantages of going intel over amd in this case? Is it a better price for performance or something? I am very new at this so any sort of help would be greatly appreciated.

Intel is creaming Amd at this point. The Core 2 duo's are the best chips out at this point.. period.

I would personally wait for a few weeks till intel reduces the price of some of their processors unless you are in a hurry, if you buy an AMD be prepare they get really really hot

It looks pretty good BUT

1. You don't have any RAM listed

2. Go with the Antec P180 for the case, cause everyone will tell you that.

3. Unless you absolutely need a 400GB hard drive, downgrade to a 160GB for $50

4. And perhaps downgrade to the E6300

LOL then look for more input Do consider some ram though (as it looks liek you prett much copied my spec, which i didnt give ram for because well, you didnt in yours so i thought you might already have some)

and what would be a good price for ....lets say.....2 gig of ram? i dont know exactly how much I should have but 2gig seems to be a common amount.

and yes i meant to put ram but i blanked. haha.


does anyone else think downgrading to the E6300 would be good? cuz its like a $40 difference for an extra .27 GHz

i just looked at the sites sent by chupacabra and i got some references to other places from som friends and it looks like they are convinced of the price drops on the core 2 duo. so ive decided to stick with the E6400 and depending how the price turns out in a few months maybe even upgrade to like the E6600

"and E6600 (2.4 GHz/4MB L2/1066MHz FSB) is planned to cut from $530 and $316 to $316 and $224 respectively, a 40.3% and a 29.1% off."

according to this the E6600 will be the same price as the E6400 currently





btw. i am in no rush to get this computer. il wait. haha. the reason why im doin all this is because I am so new, I dont want to have a butt load of regrets when I finally do build my computer. So while im annoying the heck out of you guys, Im havin a good time here. lol
