Hey guys,

what build can you come up with for £500 on ebuyer only please.
http://www.ebuyer.com/

i use my computer mainly for Internet use and gaming but if i had a decent rig i would like to play Crysis one day :D

is this impossible with £500?

im trying to find out what i can get for £500,i can obviusly look myself but you guys know the best parts and brands that go together for the best price ;)

also you can leave a case out of the budget as i can get a decent one for £30 anytime;)

well i attempted a build.....and for £489 tis is what i can get.

That RAM is really good for gaming for it's price, I have it and it is great for overclocking, gaming, and multi-tasking. Also, If you get a motherboard with intergrated audio that is good, you wont really need that ExtremeMusic card because you won't really see much of a difference, Trust me, Im a Audiophile and use intergrated sound but it is amazing. Realtek ALC888 is the way to go if you can find it. Also, I would push for the Q6600. And get a average motherboard. Or you can wait and get the 45nm's coming out in Q1 - 2008. That Antec 900 is a great case, looks like a good build, but you won't max out Crysis, Lol. Just kidding. You may, I really don't know with ATI cards, but to Max out Crysis Im pretty sure it is good to have a 8800GT.

£500 list:
Q6600
MSI P35 Neo-F
Consair XMS2 2x1GB DDR2 800 CL5
Sapphire HD 3850 256MB
Seagate ST3250410AS 250GB 16MB Cache
NEC Optiarc AD-7170S-0B
Corsair VX 550W
Casecom Black Mid Tower Case - Front Blue LED 120mm Fan - With Side Window

8800GT 256MB is out now. But no idea when it will be availiable in UK. I would expect it is slightly expensive (US$200 = £100+VAT) than ATI 3850 with lots better performance.

Awesome list mate thanks,

so im glad i could get a q6600 because thats realy what i wanted....im sure i could stretch to £600 after saving a bit more and get me a 8800GT 512Mb.
as i would prefer to go Nvidia this time :)

I just saw some reviews, and the 3850 beats the 256 8800GT

And the build you posted neva wont get anywhere near to maxing out crysis,

Daisy's will do a better job, butit wont run it maxed out with a smooth frame rate

he said the 3850, not the 2850 :P

Its an easy mistake mate :)

thanks for your replies all,so i hear people with quad cores have trouble in games getting low fps etc where people with c2ds get great framerates:confused:

im confused to why..realy i would love to skip dual core and go quad.

Some games/applications have not been coded to optimize all 4 cores yet. Half Life 2 can utilize 4 cores, but Halo cannot. Thus some faster Core 2 Duo's will still beat the Quad, although it's overall better.
